Kornati, also known as Crown islands, cause of the look of their cliffs, are the pearls of Adriatic sea, extreme natural and aesthetic value. National park Kornati is a unique group of islands, reefs and rocks. The fascinating landscape is made complete by the high cliffs, as well as the care of human hands: stone ramparts and dry-stone walls, the speciality of Mediterranean sea. We believe that the words cannot describe something that is indescribable, in other words, we suggest you come and feel all the magic of the Kornati islands by yourself.
The National park Krka is a natural phenomena of the dalmation karst region. In its course towards the sea, the river Krka created numerous picturesque lakes and waterfalls, among which Skradinski Buk and Roški slap are the best known of all. On the lake, upriver from the Skradinski Buk is a small island Visovac with a franciscan monastery from the 14 th century and a library. National park is located 15 km from Šibenik and only 5 from small historical town of Skradin.
THE ISLAND OF MURTER
The island of Murter is the biggest and the closest to the mainland of all the islands of Šibenik archipelago. It has been settled even during prehistoric times, which confirms the remains and ruins of the old Roman town Colentium. The larger part of the island is covered with old olive and fig trees which are the main traditional cultures of the domestic population. The island is also known as the «Gate of Kornati» cause of the closeness of the National park which makes this place even more attractive. Slanica, Kosirina, Podvrške, Čigrađa are just a few of many beautiful sand beaches in the area.
Šibenik, located along side the flooded mouth of the Krka River is the most picturesque city on the eastern Adriatic coast. The historical nucleus of Šibenik with numerous churches and monasteries, stone houses and mansions, ornamented by portals and heraldic crests, displays its rich cultural heritage. This city, where many artists, scientists and men of letters left their trace, remains a lively cultural centre, the host to the International Children Festival. The Cathedral of St. James, built in a gotic renaissance style under the direction of the famous architects Juraj Dalmatinac (George of Dalmatia) and Nikola Firentinac (Nicolas of Florance), it is exceptional, for it was built exclusively of stone and for its portraits of the citizens of Šibenik of that time. The Cathedral was added to the UNESCO World heritage list.
